Affiliate disclosure
In short. When you buy something after following some of PriceWarden's links to a store, the store may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way. Commissions never decide which offers you see or the order they are in.
How affiliate links work
Some stores, directly or through affiliate networks, pay a commission to apps and websites that send them customers. A link that can earn a commission carries a code identifying PriceWarden. If you follow it and buy within the period the store sets, the store or network credits PriceWarden with a share of the sale. The commission is paid by the store; it is not added to your price.
To credit the sale, the store or network may store a cookie or use similar technology in your browser when you open the link. That happens in your browser, under their privacy policies. The link identifies PriceWarden, not you: we never add your email address or account to it. The reports we receive say what was bought, where, when and for how much, but not who bought it. The privacy policy covers this in full.
Commissions do not affect ranking
- Offers are ranked by true total: price, shipping, sales tax and duties, converted to Canadian dollars. Whether an offer earns a commission plays no part in that order.
- We show offers whether or not they earn a commission, and we do not hide or demote an offer because it pays nothing.
- Stores cannot pay to be ranked higher.
How links are marked
In the app, offers whose links can earn a commission are labelled next to the link. Alert emails that contain such links say so in the email.
Programs we belong to
PriceWarden does not yet belong to any affiliate program. Each program we join will be named here, with any wording the program requires, before its links appear in the app.
